A suspected serial killer, Ogunnaike Philip, has confessed to killing three young women to steal their phones, which he sold for money, and to demand ransom from their families by pretending the victims were still alive.

He also admitted to raping two of the women before killing one and sparing the life of his fourth victim after taking her phone. To avoid detection, Philip used different names in various places, as he is a former prison inmate and serial killer.

According to The Nigerian Tribune, it was reported that the 29-year-old suspect was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping, raping, robbing, and killing his victims. The deceased include Dina Abigail (22), Ogunyemi Mary (23), and Akinsanya Abibat (18).

Despite the severity of his crimes, Philip appeared unafraid of the judgment he faces, hinting at accepting the likelihood of execution. He mentioned that, if given another chance in a future life, he would choose a better path. Strangely, he also shared that he has a specific meal in mind that he would like to eat before his execution, though he has yet to disclose it.

Items recovered from Philip include an iPhone XR, iPhone 11, Infinix Hot 10, a Moniepoint POS machine, and two black ropes.

Narrating how he killed Abigail, he said, “It was Abigail. We met along a path. I presented myself as a seer and deceived her into believing that she had aura that would attract men. She asked what she would do and I told her that she would follow me into the bush to cut some leaves. Inside the bush, I held her neck tightly and told her to open her phone with her password. I threatened to kill her if she did not.”

Further talking, he said, “She didn’t open it fully so I collected it from her and used rope to tie her hands. I killed her thereafter. I went to Saki to swap her phone with that of someone else. I killed her along Itori about three or four months ago. One of her relatives called and I told the family to pay some money as a ransom; they sent N50,000.”
