A heated exchange erupted on TVC News on Monday, July 7, 2025, after Dr. Ralph Nwosu, immediate past National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was confronted with allegations that the party had been “sold off” to elements within the new opposition coalition.

During the interview, the anchor pressed Nwosu on persistent claims that monetary transactions were involved in the ADC’s recent political realignment. Nwosu responded sharply: “Come, you invited me for this program. So please, let us discuss it. If you are an agent also, I will walk out.”

When the anchor clarified that she was not an agent but simply doing her job as a journalist, the exchange grew even more intense: “You look at me as a transactional person… There’s no state chairman who would tell you I’m a transactional person. After 20 years, running a political party is a big thing.”

Nwosu went on to defend his legacy and commitment, citing decades of personal investment in building the ADC: “I have invested billions of naira from the time we articulated this party… I have children trained in the best universities – Imperial College, Stanford, Columbia – but they cannot come back to this country.”

“And you think I would trade their security and the welfare of Nigerians for how much? That’s wrong and rude,” he added.

He insisted that the ADC’s political maneuvering was done in good faith to rescue the nation: “I’ve seen big money since 1987. But politics for me is missionary work. I can sacrifice anything to save this country.”
