The APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, has compared the performance of the governor of Rivers state, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to other governors who started their tenure at the same time with him. He argued that the Akwa Ibom Ibom state governor have developed the roads in Uyo while leaving no single pothole on the road.

He stated further that Akwa Ibom has become an industrial hub, attracting conferences and investments. He pointed out that many states implemented innovative measures to support their people during the recent economic crisis. He lamented that the Rivers State governor has not taken similar actions, which is concerning.

He said in an interview with TVC, “I have told the governor that if you say Sanwo-Olu is a second timer, and maybe others that are second timers, and that we shouldn’t compare you with them. Then I’m comparing you now with your other colleagues who came at the same time with you. Look at our neighboring states and see what is going on. See what is going on in Akwa Ibom and Abia state; these are first timers. If you go to Uyo, you will not see the minutest pot-hole on their roads.

Akwa Ibom is an industrial hub of Nigeria right now, as we speak; people take their conferences to Uyo because the town is beautiful. And these governors have been able to make it possible now within a year. When we had this economic crisis, other states were evolving their own means of reaching out to their people. Some brought palliatives, and some bought equipment to empower their people, just like the governor of Niger state. Do you hear anyone from Rivers State governor? None. But the problem is, if he was at peace with himself, he can achieve these things. You can only thrive, and you can only make progress when there is peace in your state.”
