Pastor Tunde Bakare has responded to people who called him a traitor for accepting to be late President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
In an interview with Channels TV, Bakare said he was not bothered by those who accused him of betraying the Christian faith for accepting to be Buhari’s running mate. He stated that former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was a pastor at Redeemed Christian Church of God before he accepted to be Buhari’s running mate in 2011 presidential election.
Bakare said some people even went as far as accusing him of carrying the spirit of Boko Haram. He said his decision to team up with Buhari in 2011 helped open the way for a pastor like Osinbajo to become Buhari’s running mate and Vice President in 2015
