Former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has addressed recent remarks made by political analyst Dan Ulasi during an interview with Arise Television from 29:03, expressing surprise over Ulasi’s claims of being unable to reach him. Okowa emphasised that he still uses the same phone number and has not seen any missed calls from Ulasi, whom he described as someone he holds in high regard.

He also weighed in on the state of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arguing that the party is no longer as competitive as it once was and questioning the consistency of calls for political figures like Peter Obi to return to the PDP.

The words of Okowa at some point during the interview read, “I listen to Dan Ulasi, who I respect a lot, and he stated that while he may have his reservations, he has not spoken to me, and I did listen to what he said – that he tried to call me, and he couldn’t reach out to me. I use the same phone number, and I am very much aware that I have not seen his call because he is somebody I respect quite a lot, but the truth is the PDP as of today that is not ready to be competitive as it was in the past must not be that vehicle that we must continue to go along with.”

He further added that “Ulasi also said that I had my right. I remember in that conversation Ulasi was also calling for Peter Obi to return to the PDP. If he is calling for Obi, who had left APGA for the PDP and from the PDP to the Labour Party, and he is calling back to the PDP, the question of morality in all this does not come into play anymore.”
