Political commentator and Atiku’s ally, Umar Bello has made new revelations about the internal wrangling within the Peoples Democratic Party, accusing Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike of attempting to manipulate the PDP Governors’ Forum to serve his personal agenda.

Speaking in an interview on Trust TV from 25:33, Bello alleged that Wike’s primary objective at a recent PDP governors’ meeting was to secure the endorsement of his political ally and godson, Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the substantive National Secretary of the party.

“This is because they didn’t serve his original purpose,” Bello said during the interview. “He wanted them at this meeting to announce that Anyanwu, his godson, is the substantive secretary of PDP. That was what he agreed with them.”

According to Bello, while Wike expected full support from the governors, a significant number of them opposed the move. “On getting there, because there are some people, the majority of the governor’s who disagree with this. They tried to push it through but the majority of the governors said no, we can’t do that,” he added.

Bello further claimed that Wike was furious with the outcome and insisted that the Governors’ Forum had no right to withdraw from the larger coalition talks simply because they failed to meet his expectations.

The alleged attempt by Wike to force his preference into a key party position shows growing tensions within the PDP where leadership struggles and factional interests continue to challenge unity.

Neither Wike nor the PDP Governors’ Forum has officially commented on Bello’s claims but the controversy is likely to further complicate the party’s efforts to present a united front ahead of future political battles.
