According to Daily Post News, Dr. George Nweke the former head of the civil service of Rivers State, has made certain accusations against Siminalayi Fubara, the state’s suspended governor. He thinks that the state’s citizens were spared anarchy by President Bola Tinubu decision to impose a state of emergency and suspend it, which many Nigerians have criticized as being unconstitutional.
Nweke spoke to the press in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, on Friday, making charges about the governor and stating that some of the arrangements were made directly in front of him.
Nweke said that Governor Fubara was responsible for the state’s crisis by coordinating the destruction of public structures and other evil activities.
He said one of the factors that “got me removed was when Governor Fubara told me that they would use the Ijaws to decide who would become the next president of Nigeria, and I asked him how will that work? Is it by votes or by what means?”
He stated, “Given the abundance of false information in print and electronic media, I have decided to correct the record. I was not fired or under any duress to quit; I did so voluntarily and sincerely.
However, it would be unfair for me to remain silent or to ignore some important elements that have affected or will harm our state if we continue on this track, given that I am an insider and a key player in this government by virtue of my position, working closely with Siminalayi Fubara. I would like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to Mr. President for his prompt action in the Rivers State situation, particularly with regard to the state of emergency that the National Assembly approved.
“I’m speaking as an insider, not from the outside. Rivers State would have been on fire and Nigeria would have experienced the worst economic sabotage if Mr. President hadn’t stepped in. You can click the button below for more news.
