Valentine Ozigbo, a governorship hopeful for Anambra State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), made a bold statement, clarifying his political trajectory.

He emphasized that he did not receive any financial support from Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State.

Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Ozigbo stated from 13:12, “I received zero pennies from Peter Obi; he didn’t sponsor me into the PDP. Let the point be clear.”

This declaration came in response to speculations and rumors that Peter Obi played a role in his political journey, particularly his initial involvement with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Ozigbo, who has been involved in Anambra’s political scene for years, has now shifted his allegiance to the APC in his pursuit of the governorship seat.

His statement is an effort to distance himself from the ongoing political dynamics involving Obi, clarifying that any prior involvement in politics was independent of Obi’s influence or support.
