The family dispute between actress Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has intensified following fresh allegations by her brother, Sweezzy Daniels, who accused the lawmaker of being connected to the arrest and alleged maltreatment of their brother, Samuel Ojeagwu.
In a statement shared on his verified Instagram page on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Sweezzy claimed that his brother had been handcuffed and transported from Mushin, Lagos, to Abuja under harsh conditions. He alleged that Samuel was beaten and denied food and water while in police custody. According to him, the incident followed a petition reportedly linked to Nwoko’s associate identified as Bishop, whom he accused of initiating the complaint that led to the arrest.
Sweezzy further alleged that his brother was initially detained at the Maitama Police Command before being transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office in Abuja. He questioned the motive behind the arrest, suggesting it stemmed from his brother’s decision to defend their sister in her ongoing marital conflict with the senator.
The post, which tagged notable figures including actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and businessman Seyi Tinubu, called on the Nigerian Police Force to intervene and ensure that Samuel’s rights were protected. Sweezzy described the situation as an abuse of power and a “shameful act” that highlighted growing concerns about the misuse of influence within the country’s justice system.
