Senator Anthony Adeniyi, a member of the APC, has spoken about the proposed political alliance between former PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi. He said there is no reason for the APC to be concerned about the proposed merger.

In a recent report by The Sun, Adeniyi argued that Atiku has demonstrated a strong ambition for the presidency and it is unlikely that he will step down for Peter Obi in 2027. He said he believes that Peter Obi will not agree with Atiku that the presidency should go to the North. He said unless Atiku abandons his presidential ambitions, the proposed merger is unlikely to succeed.

In Adeniyi’s words: “I do not see Peter Obi agreeing with Atiku that the presidency should go to the North. So, I don’t see the merger coming to fruition. Except Atiku can purge himself of his ambition to rule Nigeria, it is dead on arrival”….Sée Móre
