Apostle Johnson Suleman, the founder and senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, recently shared a humorous yet profound encounter he had with a brother who sought prayers over his struggles with marriage proposals.
During a recent sermon, Apostle Suleman recounted how a young man approached him, lamenting that no sister had agreed to marry him. As the conversation unfolded, the preacher found himself instinctively stepping back, prompting the brother to ask why.
“Stay there, I’m hearing you,” Apostle Suleman responded, hinting at an issue beyond the brother’s awareness. He then remarked that if the man simply opened his mouth during deliverance, demons would flee.
To understand the brother’s priorities, Apostle Suleman asked, “If I give you money now, what will you buy?” Expecting a practical response, he was surprised when the young man eagerly replied, “I’ll buy an iPhone 16!”
Shocked, the Apostle said, “Hey! Get Maclean, toothpaste”—suggesting hygiene was the real barrier, not spiritual hindrances. He then inquired about the sisters who had rejected him and was astonished by the names mentioned.
“You? You want to die? You don’t know your mate?” he exclaimed, emphasizing that the ladies in question were of high standards.
Apostle Suleman used this encounter to highlight the reality of personal struggles and self-improvement. He reminded his audience that battles in life reveal God’s dimensions in ways that prayer and fasting alone cannot.
Quoting Luke 2:35, he explained that divine trials expose the true intentions of those around us. He assured the congregation that whatever battles they faced, victory was imminent.
“It is your responsibility to ensure no wicked man survives,” he declared, calling for spiritual authority over challenges.
