Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God spoke on “Promoted For A Purpose” at A Special Combined/ Interdenominational Service.
As he spoke on the fact that God is eager to bless you, provided you are eager to be a blessing, he shared a story of how a boy who use to gift him 1 naira every Sunday promised to buy him a Jet.
He said, “I’ve always told the story of a small boy: several years ago, every Sunday as he is coming to Church he has to beg the mother, “please give me one Naira.” What do you want to do with it? “I want to give it to Daddy G. O.” – Every Sunday, very small thing. He will come and give me a Naira.”
“One day he said, Daddy I’m going to buy you a plane. I laid my hand on him and said, Amen. Well, as little children are, he grew up and travelled so I didn’t see my one Naira every Sunday. Then one day in London, we just finished a Holy Ghost Service in London. There was this young man standing before me, “Daddy you don’t remember me?” I said, the face looks familiar. He said, Ehhh, I’m your one Naira.”
“He said, “I don’t have the money to buy you a jet yet, but I have a gift for you outside and it can’t be brought in.” So I went to see and it’s a Mercedes Benz car. I laid my hands on him and said, God who has brought you thus far, will take you to the level where you will fulfill that purpose.”
The Cleric then said, “Some months ago, I heard that the same one one Naira boy has won an oil block. I said, oh, there comes my jet. Is there anybody here today, who will want to be a blessing? My God will promote you!”…..S££ MOR£
