The family of Mrs. Bola Oguntola is seeking justice over her tragic death in Mowe, Ogun State. Her husband, Mr. Kehinde Oguntola, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to intervene and ensure that the case is handled properly.
In a video shared by TVC News from 1.50, according to him, Bola was in good health on the morning of the incident. She had been in a business relationship with a distributor who worked for her. The problem began when the distributor allegedly defrauded her of money. After repeated disagreements, the man told her to come to his house on a Thursday morning around 11 a.m. to collect the refund.
Bola went to meet him, but it turned out to be her last journey. On getting there, the distributor reportedly attacked her violently. He struck her with a fan, a gas cylinder, and eventually killed her. In an attempt to cover up the crime, he tried to burn down the house using the same gas cylinder. The smoke from the fire attracted the attention of neighbors who quickly raised an alarm. Officers from Mowe Police Station arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.
The grieving husband is now worried that the case is taking a different direction. The police have suggested that the suspect might be suffering from mental illness, raising concerns that this could be used as an excuse to avoid justice.
The family is demanding that the government step in so that those responsible for Bola Oguntola’s death face the full weight of the law.
In his words, “When she got to his place, he hit her with a fan, a gas cylinder, and killed her. And afterwards, he tried burning down the house with a gas cylinder. It was the smoke that caught neighbors’ attention, who alerted officers.” See, More, Here>>>
