Founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has delivered a strong message of warning to individuals involved in the mishandling or misappropriation of church offerings. Speaking during a recent church service, the renowned televangelist stated that such actions attract dire spiritual consequences, including incurable afflictions and even death.
In a video clip from the service — which has since circulated widely online — Pastor Ibiyeomie revealed that he received a direct warning from God concerning individuals who are tampering with church funds, especially offerings dedicated to God’s work. He made it clear that the message was a prophetic revelation, not a personal opinion.
> “There is somebody tampering with the offering of a senior person,” Ibiyeomie said during the service. “God said to me, ‘Stop it, otherwise you will die. You will get a plague that cannot be cured.’ I just got it here.”
The cleric emphasized that offerings, tithes, and other financial contributions made to the church are sacred and must be treated with the utmost reverence. Diverting or stealing church funds, he warned, amounts to challenging God directly — an act that invites spiritual judgment.
> “You are tampering with the offering of the church. He said, ‘Stop,’” he continued. “He told me the senior person, the kind of class of person, I won’t disclose it. I don’t care about your position. Please don’t tamper with the offering. If not, He said to me, you’ll be plagued. A plague that not even me praying for you will work.”
His passionate appeal was directed not only at members of his own church but also at church workers, ministers, and believers in other congregations. Ibiyeomie stressed that divine principles regarding offerings are universal and should be respected across denominations.
> “Please, please, please, please, please. Your life is more precious than that money,” he warned. “Don’t tamper with it. Are you upset now? Don’t touch it, please. In any church you are, God bless you.”
Pastor Ibiyeomie has long been known for his teachings on prosperity, faith, and Christian discipline, and has repeatedly called for accountability, transparency, and holiness within the church. His latest message echoes a consistent theme in his ministry — that integrity in service to God is non-negotiable.
His statements have sparked varied reactions, with many of his congregants taking to social media to express their agreement, while others see the message as a sobering reminder of the responsibilities held by those managing church resources.
The warning also comes amid increasing scrutiny over financial transparency in religious institutions in Nigeria and across Africa. With large offerings and donations often made in faith-based communities, accountability has become a major topic both within and outside religious circles.
Pastor Ibiyeomie made it clear that the intention behind the warning was not to instill fear, but to preserve lives and ensure that those serving in God’s house do so with integrity.
> “Your life is worth more than that money,” he reiterated. “Handle God’s money with fear and respect. It is not worth losing your life or bringing affliction upon yourself for temporary gain.”
As one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders, Ibiyeomie’s message is expected to resonate widely. His Salvation Ministries church has grown into a global ministry, with its headquarters in Port Harcourt and branches across several continents. He continues to be a vocal advocate for integrity in ministry, urging believers to align their lives with divine principles in all areas — including finances.
