According to the report from the Sun, a Member, representing Isikwuato/Umunneche Federal Constituency of Abia state, Hon. Amobi Ogah highlighted the substantial contributions of the Igbo people to Nigeria’s economy and overall development.
He emphasized that Igbos play a vital role in driving growth and ensuring the nation’s progress, as evidenced by their thriving businesses and entrepreneurial spirit in various states across the country.
He argued that the Igbo community’s industriousness and resourcefulness make them indispensable contributors to the nation’s success and claimed that their influence is unparalleled by any other region in Nigeria.
He advocated for a shift to a regional government system, asserting that such a change would further demonstrate the Igbo people’s capacity to foster positive transformation and progress in Nigeria.
He said, “There is no part of this country that you don’t see an Igbo man driving the economy, trying to make sure that Nigeria works as a nation, but whenever it comes to sharing, the question like viability will come, even the viability you are talking about, go to any state that is doing well, it’s the Igbo people that are making those states viable. No other region can be compared with the Igbo. The Igbo are industrious, enterprising; if you want to know that Igbo can change and make things happen, change the system of government to regional government and see what the Igbo man can do.”…..Seë_Morë
