Retired Major General Umar Mohammed, who served in the Nigerian Armoured Corps, has described the U.S. B-2 bomber as the world’s best military aircraft while discussing the possibility of American military intervention in Nigeria.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust from 18:33, General Mohammed emphasized America’s overwhelming military superiority. “You see the United States is actually the strongest army in the world. In fact it is believed that the U.S. alone can fight the entire world. The army of the United States has a strength of 1.3 million with about 700,000 reserves which is equal to the biggest army now which is India which has about 2 million and China about 1.4 million,” he said.
The retired general highlighted America’s technological advantage over other nations. “If you look at it in terms of equipment the U.S. is far ahead of every other nation. Currently they are spending about 900 billion in their budget yearly in ensuring that they have the topnotch in terms of equipment. The B-2 Bomber is the best in the world and I can tell you that it is something extraordinary,” he stated.
General Mohammed advised Nigeria to balance protecting its sovereignty while maintaining diplomatic relations with the United States. He emphasized that Nigeria cannot militarily confront America but must firmly resist any violation of its territorial integrity under the guise of counterterrorism operations.
According to the retired general, the government should engage President Donald Trump diplomatically to secure access to advanced military equipment that would enable Nigerian forces to defeat terrorist groups independently, rather than allowing foreign troops to operate on Nigerian soil.
