Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba has reacted after former leader of the Niger Delta Militants, Asari Dokubo threatened to shoot down military aircraft.

According to LEADERSHIP, Asari Dokubo made the statement after he discovered a military helicopter hovering over his residence.

Reacting to the report, Major General Buba Edward said the statement that was made by Asari Dokubo is laughable. He said the former militant made the statement because Nigeria is a democratic nation. He said the military won’t act in an undemocratic way because of the statement.

He was quoted as saying that;

“Now, to comment by an individual that he can shoot down military helicopters, I think that’s laughable. And I am about to laugh about that. And I say that because, you know, we are in a democracy, and we are professional, of course, we cannot just, based on somebody’s comments, begin to do certain things. They will accuse the military of being undemocratic”.
