The Chairman of Emohua Local Government in Rivers State, Chidi Lloyd has firmly dismissed the prospect of seeking a political solution to the crisis between the Rivers State House of Assembly and Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He stated that the situation has progressed beyond such remedies.

He identified the importance of judicial intervention, stating that once the court issues its verdict, neither the governor nor the state House of Assembly will have any choice but to comply. By allowing the courts to address the issue, he believes that it will enhance the jurisprudence of Nigeria, setting a precedent for future governance and legal matters.

He said in an interview with TVC from 14:32, ”If we went before the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the father of the Nation and we agreed to do certain things. We came back and a party kept his own part of the bargain and another party is sponsoring people to go to court on his behalf, I don’t know how reconciliation can come as a result of all that. We don’t want any political solution any longer, we have passed that stage. When the Court speak, no governor and no state House of Assembly will do otherwise. It would also enhance our jurisprudence as a state and a country.”….Sée Móre
