In a recent statement via his official X account, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has criticized the United States government over its foreign policies and recent statements about Nigeria’s leadership.
He accused the U.S. of double standards and global hypocrisy.
Fani-Kayode reacted to a tweet by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria.
The U.S. had shared a report criticizing some Nigerian governors for spending billions on government houses while citizens suffer economic hardship.
Fani-Kayode fired back, saying the U.S. has no moral right to lecture Nigeria on governance.
He accused the American government of supporting violence in Gaza by supplying weapons to Israel.
He said the children of Gaza are being killed and starved, yet the U.S. continues to give military support.
He also said the U.S. is using the war between Ukraine and Russia to move money around and benefit its corrupt politicians.
He alleged that American officials are making billions through war and foreign aid.
Fani-Kayode further accused the U.S. of using its aid agency, USAID, to fund illegal activities in many countries.
He claimed that these funds have been used to spread corruption and destroy governments around the world.
He advised American officials to stop criticizing Nigeria and first fix their own problems.
He said they should clean up their political system before teaching others about good governance.
”Whilst the children of Gaza are being slaughtered and starved the American Government is sending more and more weapons to Israel to assist them in committing genocide. Worse still the American Government is using the Ukraine/Russia war to launder money and make billions of dollars for its corrupt leaders and, up until Trump came, used USAID as a conduit to fund billions of dollars into and from various nations all over the world in order to corrupt and destroy them. Before you give us lessons in Governance kindly drain your American swamp and clean up the mess you have put the world in,” he wrote.
