One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has stated that even though former governor of kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai removed him from seat, he stood for him when he was imprisoned.

Senator Shehu Sani made the statement while he was speaking at the Democracy Day dinner that went down in Abuja on Wednesday.

In the viral video that surfaced online from 0.26, the former Kaduna lawmaker stated that the former Kaduna state governor was among those who kept the touch of freedom alive.

Senator Shehu Sani said;

“Even though he removed me from the seat, I will always remember that he was one of those who stood for us when we were in prison. He was among those who kept the touch of freedom alive when many of us languish in the cell. Mr. President, I will like to draw your attention to this fact and truth that the national anthem, pledge or constitution can not unite a nation, a nation is united by the ideals of freedom, equity, and justice”….Sée Móre
