Alhaji Tanko Yankassi, an Elderstateman and member of the Northern Elders Forum recently made a bold claim regarding the chances of President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to his statements which were shared by VANGUARD, he pointed out that nobody has what it takes to contest against him because he has the backing of his ministers.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been given an unchallenged route back to Aso Villa in 2027 by Tanko Yankassi, a Northern Elders Forum member who believed the president was miles ahead of his equals. The Elderstateman made the statements while interacting with journalists in Abuja, the federal capital territory on Sunday.
According to his statements which were made available to the general public by VANGUARD, he pointed out that in Nigeria presently, Bola Tinubu was the president and he has the full support of his ministers.
”In Nigeria today, Bola Tinubu is the president. He has his ministers and governors who are backing him.” He said.
In his arguments, he pointed out that no other candidate has the stamina and strength to contest against the president and be successful.
“Who else has all what it takes to move into the contest with the kind of stamina and strength to be more successful comparatively with Tinubu?,” he added.
The statements from the Elderstateman however, stirred mixed reactions from the general public. While many agreed with him on the backing received from by the president from his ministers, others equally were of the opinion that the president has to prove his strength again.
