Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has expressed fresh concerns over the growing insecurity in Nigeria, warning that bandit groups may be advancing toward the South-West region and eventually Lagos.

Sowore made the remarks during an interview from 0:39 on Sahara TV while discussing the increasing spate of attacks and the movement of armed groups across parts of the country. According to him, the activities of bandits and terrorists appear to be following a strategic path toward coastal states.

Speaking during the interview, the activist said, “They will go towards the Atlantic. The goal is to take on the Southwest up until Lagos and we are almost there.”

The former presidential candidate suggested that recent attacks and security breaches in parts of the North-Central and South-West regions should not be viewed as isolated incidents. He argued that the situation reflects a broader security challenge that could spread further if urgent action is not taken by authorities.

Sowore also criticized the handling of insecurity in the country, insisting that repeated warnings from concerned Nigerians have not received adequate attention from the government and security agencies.
