Dan Ulasi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), placed responsibility for the party’s current challenges squarely on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during a candid interview on Symfoni TV from 18:19.

Ulasi was direct in his assessment. “He (Atiku) is the problem and he is still the problem,” he stated.

The PDP chieftain criticized Atiku’s decision to leave the party he helped establish. “When you leave a party that you founded, rose to be a vice president in that party, ran for office about two or three times in that party, and you suddenly form another party, that’s injurious, that’s a serious injury,” Ulasi said.

He explained the ripple effect of Atiku’s departure. “He knows that most of the people in that party went in there because of him, and most of them will also leave because of him, as it has happened now, that is in the ADC,” Ulasi stated.

According to the party chieftain, Atiku’s impact extends beyond any explicit criticism. “So even if he does not physically or by spoken word condemn the party, his actions speak louder than the common words because he’s not there,” he argued.

Ulasi highlighted the tangible losses resulting from the defection. “And you can see top members of the party who have joined him. That’s a loss for PDP in many parts of this country,” he said.
