Former Senator Dino Melaye has made bold claims about the membership strength of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that the party is attracting prominent politicians daily.

In a recent interview with Arise News from 6:32, Melaye responded to questions about politicians leaving ADC to return to other parties. He strongly defended the party’s growing influence in Nigerian politics.

“I don’t know where you got your statistics from, but I want to tell you that on daily basis, we have people joining the ADC. As I speak, we have over 100 senators, former and serving, who are members of the ADC. And we have over close to 400 members of the House of Representatives, former and serving who are members of the ADC. We have dozens of former governors who are members of the ADC. And we are growing geometrically and otherwise,” Melaye stated.

The former Kogi West Senator emphasized that ADC includes both current and former federal lawmakers in its ranks. His claims suggest that more than 500 federal legislators have joined the opposition party.

Melaye, who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join ADC, positioned the party as a major force ahead of the 2027 elections. He dismissed reports of members leaving ADC, insisting the party continues to attract high-profile politicians seeking political alternatives.

The ADC hopes to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress in future elections.
