According to a video that was posted on the official X account of NEWS CENTRAL TV on Tuesday from 0.50, the former governor of Rivers state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has stated that all beggars will be taken away from the roads in Abuja.
The FCT Minister said it is embarrassing that beggars are everywhere in Abuja. He said some of the people may not even be beggars. Wike said they may be criminals pretending to be beggars and they won’t allow them to stay.
According to Nyesom Wike;
“If you know you have a sister, you have a brother who is a beggar on the road, from next week, we will take them out. It is embarrassing that some people will come in and the first thing they will see are beggars on the roads.
“Sometimes, they may not be beggars, they may be criminals pretending to be beggars. We will not allow that”.
