In a recent video on Channels Television from 03 second, Jarett Tenebe has voiced concerns regarding the integrity of the voter registration system managed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo State. During a meeting, Tenebe emphasized the importance of inspecting voter registers, a critical step that is set to begin soon. However, he highlighted notable issues with the information provided by INEC, raising alarms about the authenticity of the registers.

Tenebe pointed out that the register INEC provided prior to the election was thoroughly scrutinized and found to be missing key names, such as “Asue Ighodalo.” This omission has raised suspicions and led to calls for a detailed inspection of the new registers to verify their legitimacy.

“They are supposed to start with an inspection of registers, and because we were not aware of it, INEC had already given us registers which we are supposed to compare with the registers they will bring. There are a lot of suspicions here and there because of the fact that I raised earlier with you guys about the beavers machines that were loaded from the government house to this place, and registers were also included,” Tenebe stated, highlighting the concerns surrounding the voter registration process.

Tenebe further explained the significance of the register issue, citing an ongoing case between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and INEC, which is currently pending in the Supreme Court. The case revolves around the candidate of PDP not being registered in Edo State. Tenebe emphasized that the register provided by INEC before the election did not include Asue Ighodalo’s name, raising doubts about its completeness and accuracy.

“The reason why the register is an issue is that you guys are aware that the case between PDP and INEC, which is still in the Supreme Court, has to do with the candidate of PDP not being registered in Edo. The register INEC gave to us before the election, we thoroughly looked at it, and it does not have Asue Ighodalo in that register. So that’s the reason why we want to look at the register they want to give to us critically to ensure that we are not inspecting fake registers,” Tenebe explained.
