Days after launching a large-scale missile attàck on Israel, Iran’s military has issued a defiant statement via their verified Twitter account, declaring their successful strìke on one of Israel’s key military installations.

The Iranian military claimed their actions were a direct response to Israel’s provocation, specifically for the kìlling of a Hezbollah leader and what they described as blowing up Hezbollah’s communication devices.

“They blew up pagers, we responded by blowing up the world’s most heavily defended air base!” read the statement, referring to Iran’s retaliation against Israel’s Nevatim Air Base. Nevatim is one of the Israeli Defense Forces’ most critical military sites, hosting advanced F-35 fighter jets and serving as a logistical hub for U.S.-Israeli military cooperation.

This escalation follows Israel’s targeted operations against Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group based in Lebanon. Israeli forces have carried out several airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon and Syria, claiming these attacks are necessary to neutralize threats posed by the group. Hezbollah’s leader, targeted by Israeli airstrikes, had been a crucial figure in Iran’s regional alliance network, making his death a major blow to Tehran’s influence in the area.

Iran’s missile attack, which reportedly involved 200 ballistic missiles, marked one of the largest single-day escalations between the two adversaries. While Israeli officials confirmed damage to some military installations, details about the full extent of the destruction remain scarce. Israeli responses have included warnings of further strikes on Iranian targets and allied militias across the region.

The statement from Iran’s military reflects Tehran’s determination to assert its power and retaliate for any Israeli aggression, despite growing international concerns about the potential for a broader conflict in the region.
