Following the escalating tensions between Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and several governors within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdul-aziz Naibi Abubakar, the Director-General of the Atikuthelight organization, shared his views on the ongoing rift.

In a provocative tweet posted on his verified Twitter account, Abubakar wrote, “I pray this fight between Wike and PDP governors never stop!”

This statement comes amidst heightened friction between Wike and key figures in the PDP. Wike, who was previously a prominent PDP governor in Rivers State, has been embroiled in disputes with party leadership, particularly after accepting a ministerial role under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by President Bola Tinubu. Wike’s decision to join the APC administration has led to speculations about his loyalty and standing within the PDP.

Abdul-aziz Naibi Abubakar’s tweet quickly gained attention on social media, sparking conversations about the internal struggles of the PDP. His remarks seem to reflect a view that the ongoing discord between Wike and other PDP governors could weaken the party or possibly lead to beneficial outcomes for certain political factions.

The tension between Wike and his former allies in the PDP has been brewing since last year, with attempts by lawmakers loyal to Wike to impeach Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Although President Tinubu intervened to resolve the crisis, the relationship between Wike and Fubara remains strained, further complicating Wike’s standing within the PDP.
