The former governor of Anambra state, in a viral video that was posted on the official X account of Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilization, has stated that he spent N42,300,000 to renovate his office when N292 million was budgeted for it. Peter Obi made the revelation while speaking about the reason why he was impeached as the governor of Anambra state.
The former governor of Anambra state said he was impeached within six months of being a governor. He said his impeachment was initiated because he was saving money.
According to Peter Obi;
“I was impeached within six months of being a governor. What was the problem? As governor, there was a budget to renovate my office that got burnt. The budget was N298 million but I spent N42,300,000. That was my number one offense. The second offense was that N486m was budgeted for the lodge where I lived as governor but I spent N81 million In doing everything and the third offense was that I was saving money”….Discover_Next
