Emmanuel Ogebe, an international human rights lawyer has shared an experience where he sent ₦12,000 to the wife of a soldier in Yobe State who had once been captured by Fulani bandits.

In a video recently shared by AIT on YouTube from 41:40, Ogebe said the soldier’s wife was extremely grateful for the small amount he gave her and expressed her thanks multiple times through text messages. He said this showed how desperate many people in the country are. He added that it is sad that the woman had to rely on help from others to get by.

In Ogebe’s words: “I sent 12 thousand naira to the wife of a soldier in Yobe who was a captive of Fulani bandits, this woman sent me 5 texts thanking me for the 12 thousand naira. The sad thing is that people are so desperate that when the see a little they are thankful to God for the little that they have. And the sad part of it is that this is the wife of a man who is fighting terrorists has to seek help from somewhere”….S££ _ MOR£
