In a recent statement via his official X account, Sam Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts and a former Executive Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), haz spoken on the rising tribal hate speech in Nigeria.

Recently, a Canadian-based Igbo woman called for the poisoning of Yoruba and Edo people in the eastern part of Nigeria.

This was in response to the recent “IgboMustGo” campaign in Lagos, which has fueled tension and anger across different ethnic groups in the country.

“The collectivization of guilty is a mark of low civilization. Criminals are individuals, not ethnics.

@lagospedia who spread hate speech against Igbo and the Canadian woman who spreads hatred against Edo and Yoruba people are INDIVIDUALS who ought to be punished,” Sam Amadi wrote.

Amadi criticized the growing trend of associating criminal actions with entire ethnic groups.

He stated that blaming an entire ethnic group for the actions of a few individuals is a sign of “low civilization.”

According to him, criminals are individuals, not representatives of their ethnic groups.

Amadi specifically mentioned the woman in Canada who called for violence against the Yoruba and Edo people.

He also pointed out a social media user, @lagospedia, who had previously spread hate speech against the Igbo community.

Amadi stated that these people are individuals who should be punished for their actions, not entire ethnic groups.

He called for a focus on holding individuals accountable for their actions rather than blaming whole communities….VïêwMôrê
