Nigerian lawyer and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo has quoted the statement that was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu against the Igbos.
In a report that was published by SUNDAY SUN, Kenneth Okonkwo tackled Bayo Onanuga for telling the Igbo people not to interfere in Lagos state politics.
Kenneth Okonkwo said the meaning of Bayo Onanuga’s remark is that Igbos are alien in Yorubaland and they should never come near Lagos politics. He said the statement is a threat on the Igbos and Onanuga has portrayed himself as an ethnic bigot and a person with tribalistic leadership mentality.
He said if President Bola Tinubu is genuine, he wouldn’t have hired him after he made such statement.
Okonkwo said;
“In his words, “Igbos are aliens in Yorubaland; they should never come near Lagos politics again. Onanuga threatened the Igbo ethnic stock when he said “Let 2023 be the last time of Igbo interference in Lagos politics; Let there be no repeat in 2027”. If Tinubu is genuine when he postulated that “There is no place for ethnic bigotry or such threats in the Nigeria we seek to build,” he wouldn’t have hired Onanuga in the first place”….Sèē – Mørê
