A Sports Analyst, Effiong Nyong, has disclosed that the head coach of the Nigerian boxing team who had been coaching the boxing team for years was replaced by a new coach who does not have a coaching license and that was why Nigeria performed badly.
Effiong Nyong made this disclosure during an interview with a journalist on Arise Television. During the interview, , Effiong Nyong said, “boxing coach who took Nigeria to the olympics has no coaching license. It is something that is irreconcilable. Nigeria does not have a good stadium which the athletes can train in.”
Remember that the Nigerian boxing team was at the Olympics in France and they finished the competition without a single medal. The same sad performance was recorded by Nigeria in other events at the Olympics. However, Effiong Nyong maintained that the poor performance was caused by the fact that Nigeria plays politics with sports and that was why a qualified coach was replaced with an unlicensed one.
