Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has addressed the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, providing insights into NATO’s approach, military support, and the evolving situation on the battlefield.
In an interview from 3:11 aired by DRM News, he detailed Canada’s involvement in training Ukrainian forces and emphasized the country’s commitment to increasing defense spending, ensuring Arctic security, and providing sustained assistance to Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.
Carney highlighted the severe losses faced by Russian forces, noting, “Russia is losing 35,000 troops a month. Twenty-two to twenty-three thousand, depending on the month, of those troops are killed. The balance are incapacitated, to use a euphemism, but will not fight again. They’re losing troops faster than they can replace them. They are not gaining territory. Ukraine is able to strike.”
He stressed that the high casualty rates have weakened Russian operational capacity, leaving them unable to hold ground or advance effectively. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to launch counterattacks, demonstrating resilience and tactical effectiveness on multiple fronts.
