The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi has alleged that ADC intend to escalate the case of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to regional and international bodies because they believe he’s being deliberately kept out of the 2027 political space through unlawful detention.
Speaking from 30:30 on Symfoni, the ADC spokesperson said, “El-Rufai is a political prisoner. I was in court twice and on those days that he was arraigned, when he was released briefly for the burial of his late mother, we were all there hoping that they would not pick him up again. But we are going to escalate it regionally. We are going to escalate the matter internationally.”
Abdullahi argued that none of the charges filed against El-Rufai are non-bailable, making his continued detention legally unjustifiable.
He accused the authorities of deliberately manipulating court processes to keep the former governor locked up, describing a pattern where bail hearings are repeatedly shifted, cases moved between courts, and new long dates fixed all designed to run down the clock ahead of the next election….Read_More…
