Former Anambra State governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has opened up on the reasons behind his exit from two major political parties, citing compulsion and personal principles as key factors.

Obi made the disclosure during an interview from 4:50 on News Central TV, where he responded to recurring questions about his departure from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking during the programme, Obi gave a rare insight into the circumstances surrounding his political moves, drawing a clear distinction between the reasons for leaving each party. “I left APGA because I was forced to leave. I left PDP because of my principles. You cannot say you are going to a destination but the process of going there has compromised your principle,” he said.
