Bolaji Abdullahi, a prominent Nigerian politician and spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, has raised concerns about internal tensions within the alliance, particularly involving key political figures.
Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI TV, Abdullahi shed light on behind-the-scenes disagreements that have tested the unity of the coalition, which has been positioning itself as a viable alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Highlighting a specific incident, Abdullahi revealed that former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, at one point threatened to withdraw from the coalition. According to him, the dispute stemmed from Amaechi’s dissatisfaction with the leadership style of the coalition’s national chairman, whom he accused of showing favoritism.
“There was a time his excellency, Rotimi Amaechi went to the National Chairman and was threatening to leave the coalition. Do you know why? He felt the chairman was pampering Peter Obi,” Abdullahi said during the interview.
