Umar Ardo, a prominent political activist and the promoter of the All Democratic Alliance, has raised a serious alarm regarding the legality of the Nigerian Democratic Congress. During a recent media appearance, he clarified that his legal battles are not personally targeted at any individual politician. Instead, he insists his primary motivation is to prevent what he describes as a monumental fraud within the national electoral system.
According to a video from 14:02 posted on the Official YouTube channel of Arise News on Thursday May, 14, 2026, while discussing the court dismissal of his own party registration suit, Umar Ardo spoke about the opposition. He stated, “I told Obi’s people to pick another party, not NDC, because this problem was coming.” He claims he tried to warn various stakeholders about these looming registration irregularities long ago.
The politician explained that he had no direct line to reach Peter Obi personally, so he reached out to those closest to him. Ardo maintains that he warned them that the Nigerian Democratic Congress had not followed the proper legal channels during its formation. He claims he also sat down with other leaders like Kwankwaso to share these facts before they decided to join the party.
Ardo detailed how the party allegedly bypassed critical requirements like filling specific electoral forms and uploading necessary documents. He expressed deep frustration that the Independent National Electoral Commission did not appeal a court judgment he considers flawed. To him, the fact that high profile politicians have now joined the party does not change the reality that the initial registration process was allegedly skipped entirely by organizers.
In his concluding remarks, Ardo rejected the idea that he is merely a busybody interfering in the affairs of others for no reason. He argued that as a citizen, he cannot remain silent while the democratic foundations of the country are being damaged by shortcuts. He vowed to take his case to the Supreme Court, insisting that truth must prevail over political convenience for the nation….Read_More…
