A Lagos-based businessman, Onyema Ekpenyong, has spoken about how he received the news of his brother’s death in South Africa.
In an interview with PUNCH on Saturday, May 9, 2026, Ekpenyong said members of the Nigerian community in South Africa first contacted him to inform him that his brother, Andrew, had died.
He described the news as shocking and deeply distressing, saying it left him devastated. According to him, he was later informed that Andrew’s lifeless body was discovered in a morgue, about a day after police had visited his residence.
Ekpenyong said the way the information was communicated made the tragedy even more painful, as he struggled to process the sudden loss of his brother.
He said, “Some people in the Nigerian community in South Africa reached out to me. So, when they sent me the message about my brother’s death, I was devastated. They said they discovered his lifeless body in a morgue a day after the police came to his house.”….Read_More…
