The former Director General of the Obi-Datti 2023 Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe has revealed that he started his political journey in 1978.
He made the revelation on his official X handle.
In the post that Doyin Okupe shared on his page, he said he has been in politics for 46 years and that his politics did not begin with the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi.
Doyin Okupe said he and Obi decided to work together in the 2023 general elections for a southern presidential candidate. He said he respects Peter Obi’s political ambition and he can never be against it.
Here is what Doyin Okupe wrote on his official page;
“I have been in politics since 1978. That is 46yrs. My politics did not start with Obi. Peter Obi and I agreed to fight for a southern presidential ticket in 2023 because we knew we wont get it in PDP. We both took a bold decision to leave PDP and reached the Nigerian voters directly through another political platform. Despite our serious effort, we lost the election”….Seë_Morë
