The governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara has reacted after the Speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly, Hon Martins Amaewhule spoke about the current state of education in Rivers state.

The reaction of the governor of Rivers state was contained in a report that was published on the official X handle of CHANNELS TV on Monday, December 1, 2025.

This is coming after the Speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly highlighted the deplorable conditions of public schools, particularly primary and secondary institutions in both urban and rural areas.

Martin Amaewhule said children in Rivers state are still forced to learn in classrooms devoid of roofs, chairs, doors and functional facilities.

However, Siminalayi Fubara has now reacted to the comment that was made by the Speaker. In the report that surfaced online, he said his team is working strategically to reverse the decline.
