Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District has condemned the killing of a suspect, Mene Ogidi, by a police officer in Delta State, describing the act as disturbing and unjustifiable.

Speaking during an interview from 10:59 on Channels Television, the lawmaker reacted strongly to the incident involving ASP Nuhu Usman, which has since sparked outrage across the country and renewed concerns over police conduct and accountability.

Referencing the widely circulated footage of the incident, Dafinone stressed that the visual evidence leaves little room for doubt about what transpired. “It’s very clear to everybody. The incident was video taped live that the murdering officer was clearly possessed,” he said, underscoring the severity of the act and the need for immediate action by relevant authorities.

The killing, which reportedly occurred in Delta State, has drawn condemnation from civil society groups and members of the public, many of whom are calling for justice for the deceased and stricter oversight of security operatives. The video evidence, now widely shared on social media, has intensified pressure on the Nigeria Police Force to ensure transparency in its investigation.
