According to a report by The Sun, on Sunday May 3, 2026, former Kogi State governorship aspirant and women leader, Princess Grace Iye Adejoh, has called for a major political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to reconsider his presidential ambition and support a broader opposition strategy under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking in Lokoja, Adejoh stated that Nigeria is currently facing serious challenges, including rising insecurity, hunger, and economic hardship, she noted that many citizens are struggling with daily survival and are increasingly frustrated with the state of the country.

Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have both maintained strong political followings across different regions of the country, and Adejoh believes their combined influence could reshape the electoral landscape if properly managed.
She advised Atiku Abubakar to consider stepping back from the race and focus on legacy and national interest, she argued that political sacrifice at this stage could help build a stronger coalition capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
The women leader stressed that leadership requires difficult choices, she said history often remembers leaders who place national unity above personal ambition, and she urged Atiku to reflect on that path.
