Kenneth Okonkwo, a veteran Nollywood actor and former spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has stated that the internal contradictions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are undermining its credibility and future viability.

In an interview with SYMFONI TV from 6:34, Okonkwo said he finds it strange that the G5 governors who opposed PDP’s presidential candidate in 2023 and supported President Bola Tinubu still remain in the party.

He noted that the group, now possibly reduced to G4 and led by Nyesom Wike, has expressed intentions to support Tinubu again in 2027, yet they refuse to formally leave PDP.

Okonkwo said this behavior reflects a deeper crisis within the party, where loyalty and ideology are blurred by personal interests. He argued that such contradictions could prevent PDP from rebuilding itself into a credible opposition force.

Okonkwo said PDP may still survive and become viable again, but only if it resolves these internal divisions and redefines its political identity.

His words,

“Let me tell you, isn’t it strange that the G5 told you they want to support Tinubu? They supported him in 2023, and from 2023 they say maybe G4 or whatever, led by Wike, they said they will support him again in 2027. Is it not strange that they say they will not leave PDP? So why do you think they are still remaining in PDP? They don’t want to leave, and PDP will survive again and become a viable party.” View, More,
