Former presidential aide, Laolu Akande, has said that it is evident to everyone that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is being used to run down the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During an interview with Channels TV from 1:02, Akande criticized the PDP leadership for handling the situation with kid gloves, stressing that the party is not serious about addressing its internal challenges.
He explained that although the crisis in the PDP began when Atiku Abubakar ran against the national consensus, which paved the way for Wike’s current influence, the party should have long resolved its issues.
According to him, if the PDP had competent leadership and any real vision left, two years should have been enough for it to recover from that setback.
“It is clear that this guy is running the system down, and you guys are handling it with kid gloves. They’re not serious. You have to decide what you want to do. There’s nobody who doesn’t know that Wike is being used to run the party down, that is clear to everybody. The problem started when Atiku Abubakar ran against the national consensus; that was what produced Wike. But the party ought to have recovered from there if they were serious at all, if they had anybody who understands leadership, who has any vision left in the PDP. Two years is enough for them to recover.” View, More,
