According to a report that was published on the official X account of ARISE NEWS on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the former governor of Bayelsa state and former Minister of Petroleum, Timipre Sylvia has reacted after he was accused of sponsoring a coup to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
His statement came after it was reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu replaced his service chiefs over an alleged coup attempt.
Reacting, Timipre Sylvia’s aide, Boroku stated that the former governor of Bayelsa state was not involved in any coup attempt. He, however, confirmed that his residence was raided by members of the Nigerian army.
He said the former governor supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election and won’t get himself involved in such act.
According to ARISE NEWS, Boroku said that;
“Chief Timipre Sylva, CON, has no involvement whatsoever, either in planning or logistics, with any such plot. He is a thoroughbred democrat whose political journey has been defined by faith in democratic processes and institutions”. View, More,
