According to a report by the Punch News on Saturday, 25th of October, 2025, Evangelist Ezekiel Dachom, a Plateau-based cleric and regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations, has spoken on the repeated killings in Plateau communities by alleged Fulani herdsmen. He said that there was a farmer who killed a Fulani herder while defending himself and was sentenced to death by the court.
Evangelist Ezekiel Dachom criticised the government’s response, stating that acknowledgement and action would have halted the killings. Instead, he alleged that the government denies the situation and protects those responsible.
He highlighted a case where a farmer defending himself against a Fulani herder was sentenced to death, questioning if the government has effectively handed Nigeria over to Islam. He expressed concern that Christians face death if they don’t renounce their faith, and with courts seemingly biased, he wondered who could rescue them.
