During an interview with TVC from 1:15, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator and businessman Ben Murray-Bruce shared details of a past conversation he had with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before he assumed office. Murray-Bruce, who has known Tinubu for many years, revealed that the president had a clear and concise vision for managing the country, centered around working with a small, capable team rather than a large cabinet.

The former senator explained that he was curious about how Tinubu planned to handle governance with numerous ministers and advisers, most of whom he might not know personally. According to him, Tinubu emphasized that effective leadership does not necessarily require numbers but competence and trust among a close group of individuals who understand the president’s goals and vision for the nation.

According to him, “First of all, I’ve known President Tinubu before he became Governor Tinubu. He’s been my friend for many years. Before he ran for president, I had a conversation with him, and I asked him specifically what he would do as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I also asked him, I said, ‘Mr. President, you’re going to have 42 ministers, ministers of state. How are you going to run the economy of the country with 42 people you don’t even know?’ He said to me, and I quote, ‘I only need eight people to run Nigeria. It’ll be my dream team.
