According to a report by Iranian News Agency IRNA on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, Iran’s Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref, has declared that the country’s recent military and diplomatic performance has proven its strength and deterrence capabilities, asserting that any adversary attempting aggression against Iran would ultimately be forced to “beg for a ceasefire.”

Aref made the remarks on Thursday during an event in Tehran commemorating World Post Day, where he reflected on the lessons of the 12-day conflict earlier this year, which he said had unified the nation and enhanced Iran’s social and political resilience.

“The 12-day war demonstrated the full capacity of our people and our armed forces,” Aref said. “We are not a nation that seeks war, and we have never initiated one. But today, our enemies have learned that if they attack us, they will have no choice but to plead for a truce and send messages asking for negotiations.”

He added that the confrontation had not only showcased Iran’s defensive strength but also transformed internal unity into what he described as “a new form of national solidarity.”

Aref revealed that during a meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General in a foreign capital, the UN chief reportedly acknowledged that “after the 12-day war, the notion of Iran’s system collapsing has completely ended.”

The vice president emphasized that for over four decades, foreign powers have sought to destabilize the Islamic Republic, but each challenge has only strengthened Iran’s endurance and national cohesion.

“Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, our enemies have repeatedly attempted to undermine our sovereignty,” Aref said. “But history shows that every confrontation has only made our system stronger and our people more united.”

He went on to highlight Iran’s defense and missile advancements, which were achieved despite years of international sanctions. According to him, these indigenous capabilities allowed Iran to deliver a “firm and decisive response” to what he called “the Zionist regime’s provocations” during the conflict.

“Our defensive readiness today is far greater than it was just four months ago,” Aref stated. “We remain committed to peace, but the world must understand that Iran is fully capable of defending itself and will not hesitate to respond to any act of aggression.” See, More, Here>>>
