Primate Ayodele Elijah has identified five prominent Nigerian politicians whom he says Christians should specifically pray for, urging believers to seek divine protection and guidance for their health and leadership.
Speaking in a recent online broadcast from 07:40, he listed Olusegun Obasanjo, Olatunde Adebutu, T.Y. Danjuma, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Babangida as individuals requiring spiritual intercession.
The cleric clarified that prayers are not intended for their demise but for their well-being, emphasizing the importance of their continued presence in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape. “The time is drawing near, and we have to pray for their health. We are not praying for them to die; that is the message if the Lord gives. We still need them,” Primate Ayodele explained.
He encouraged Christians to take prayer seriously as a form of spiritual support for national leadership. According to the cleric, consistent prayer can influence leaders’ decisions, promote peace, and prevent potential crises.
